Are The Steelers For Real?

After having watched the Steelers game on our little Thanksgiving night game/six days later on a Wednesday afternoon game, they end up being 11-0 on the season and the only team left in the NFL undefeated. But looking back on their undefeated season thus far, I have to ask, are they a legit 11-0 team?

Now, I am not downplaying how good of a season they are having. They are having a great season, especially after all the injuries they had last year and all of the drama going on. Big Ben is playing well, and so are JuJu Smith-Schuster, Eric Ebron, and rookie Chase Claypool. Don't worry I didn't forget about their star running back, James Conner. Who I really hope gets better after being tested positive with COVID-19, with being a cancer survivor too.

But when you look at the AFC, I still think Kansas City is the best team in the conference, and probably in football. I just don't think Pittsburgh has played anyone that makes you say, "Wow they are going to the Superbowl".

Looking back at the teams they have beaten, they are not all that impressive. They have beaten the Giants, Broncos, Texans, Eagles, Cowboys, Bengals, and Jaguars. That's seven teams that they have beaten with a losing record. The other four teams are the Browns, Titans, and Ravens twice.

Granted they put a beat down on the Browns, who are good, 38-7. But they beat an underwhelming Ravens team, who lost their starting Quarterback, Lamar Jackson in their second match up 19-14. And they beat a pretty good Titans team 27-24.

Looking at the rest of their schedule it is favorable for them but does look a little harder. Next week they do play an improving Washington team, the 8-3 Bills (great color match up btw), then the Bengals, Colts, and finish up with the Browns which will be a more competitive game.

I think Pittsburgh can make the AFC Championship if they don't get upset by a team like the Colts, Titans, Browns, Dolphins, or whoever they play in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, which can be difficult for them. But I just don't see them beating Kansas City to get to the Superbowl.

We'll just have to see. But as of right now I personally do not think the Steelers are a legit 11-0 team.
